Birthday Girl - Review

By Penelope Douglas

Time spent reading: 08.10.2021 - 08.12.2021 3 days

⭐️⭐️ (2/5)

At first this was the last book I wanted to read, I had already moved it out of my TBR (to be read) list and was planning on never putting it there again. But my teenage girl ass was too curious not to read one of Penelope Douglas' most talked about books.

I feel the need to admit that I really liked the intensity of this book. Not even near the best, nor one of my favorites, but there are so many good quotes and lessons to learn through the mistakes of Jordan that I can't say its one of the worsts I read.

It's a romance story between Jordan and her boyfriend's father. Yes exactly, that's why I thought I wouldn't like it at first, but there is so much Drama and entertainment in this, that I couldn't drop it once I picked it up.

Also Since Jordan is way younger, she is also very immature in comparison to Pike (the bf's Father). So sometimes I wanted to shut her mouth so bad OMG.

Would definetly not put at the top of the TBR list if I were you. But when you are out of stuff to keep your mind wandering, it's not a bad reading at all, it's actually incredibly well written. I know I am biased because I LOVE Penelope Douglas but I swear I did enjoy it.

Recommend a LOT to people who love the "forbidden romance" trope, or anyone one who loves a good drama.

The reasoning behind my 2 star rating tho, is because I read this right after Punk 57 which is just the perfect book. So yeah, I was expecting much more, but at least I got a very entertaining book.
